Dr. Barnes is grateful to serve El Paso, the community where she was born and raised. She graduated from Lehigh University with honors and earned her master’s degree in biomedical science at Drexel University, and her medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. Dr. Barnes furthered her training and completed her residency at Phoenix Integrated Residency of Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

Dedicated to excellence, Dr. Barnes is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Barnes has participated in research throughout her career focusing on quality improvement and quality of life among gynecologic cancer patients. Dr. Barnes also has a passion for training new physicians and serves as an associate professor in gynecologic oncology at Las Palmas and Del Sol Medical Centers. She performs complex pelvic and abdominal surgery.

Dr. Barnes is a member of numerous professional societies including the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists and Gynecologic Oncology of Canada, among others. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
