About
As an experienced women’s health and oncology nurse practitioner at Spero Women’s Oncology Center, she provides compassionate care to women with gynecologic abnormalities and malignancies, including management of chemotherapy, colposcopy, in-office treatment of dysplasia, cancer risk assessment, and routine contraception and gynecology services.
Kayla has conducted clinical research to improve patient care, including studies to detect cancer and pre-cancerous abnormalities of the cervix, as well as studies related to the underlying predisposition to cancer in families and genetic cancer risk interventions. Her work has been published in medical journals and texts. Kayla also has experience teaching student clinicians at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso and Brookdale University Hospital in New York.
She is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology, Oncology Nursing Society and Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. In 2014, Kayla was named a finalist for the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health’s “Inspirations in Women’s Health Award.”
